KT Partners with Kyndryl for AI Transformation Business

KT announced on Oct. 28 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kyndryl, the world’s largest information technology (IT) infrastructure services company, for cooperation in the artificial intelligence (AI) transformation (AX) business.

Kyndryl is a company that designs, builds, and modernizes complex IT systems, helping its customers operate their infrastructure stably. It has thousands of customers in more than 60 countries. The company was spun off from IBM’s infrastructure services division in 2021.

Through this collaboration, KT plans to provide differentiated AX services to business-to-business (B2B) customers. The two companies will combine their expertise in telecommunications and global business execution capabilities to jointly participate in domestic AI, cloud, and security business areas. They have agreed to cooperate on entering the regulatory industry AX market, researching security architecture, enhancing KT employees’ AX capabilities, and modernizing KT’s IT systems.

The two companies plan to jointly participate in AX business in domestic financial and public regulatory industry sectors as needed. They also plan to propose optimized AX services tailored to the regulations that apply differently to each customer. To this end, they will jointly research AI, cloud, and network-based security architecture to create a reliable IT environment for customers while simultaneously strengthening KT’s security governance.

Joint training will also be conducted to enhance KT employees’ AX capabilities, utilizing Kyndryl’s global professional workforce and proven educational curriculum. Through this, KT will be able to provide improved AX services to its customers. Based on Kyndryl’s extensive global AX business experience, they will also discuss ways to smoothly modernize KT’s IT infrastructure and services, including enterprise resource planning (ERP).
