KT, Palantir CEOs discuss further data platform collaboration

The CEOs of KT and Palantir Technologies held their first meeting in Korea, Tuesday, to discuss ways to expand the use of Palantir’s platform across local industries.

At the meeting, held at KT’s headquarters in Seoul, the company’s CEO Kim Young-shub and Palantir CEO Alex Karp reviewed the progress of the two companies’ joint initiatives to deploy Palantir’s data platforms and refined execution strategies to scale these solutions across Korean enterprises.

In March, KT inked a partnership agreement with Palantir, becoming the U.S. data processing giant’s first premium partner in Korea. It has been aiming to expand its presence in the local market by leveraging KT’s network infrastructure and understanding of Korea’s artificial intelligence (AI) transformation environment.

“KT’s collaboration with Palantir will become a success story leading AI transformation innovation across major Korean industries,” Kim said. “We will continue to support expanding effective, data-driven decision-making powered by AI across various industrial sectors.”

Coinciding with Karp’s visit, KT also hosted the second AX Leader Summit, a forum bringing together top management from leading corporations driving AX innovation. Participants included Korean Air Vice Chairman Woo Kee-hong, LS Electric CEO Koo Ja-kyun and POSCO Holdings President Lee Ju-tae. The leaders exchanged insights on navigating global uncertainties and shared perspectives with Karp on industry-specific digital transformation strategies.

To validate the effectiveness of Palantir’s platform, KT has built a cloud-based work environment and applied Palantir’s Foundry and AI platform (AIP) across some of KT’s business units. These platforms analyze enterprise data with AI to support efficient decision-making. These platforms enable advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making by integrating AI for real-time analysis and the visualization of large-scale data generated during operations.

Based on proven outcomes, the two companies plan to jointly offer comprehensive, cloud-based packages that allow local customers to leverage Palantir’s solutions seamlessly.

“We highly value our partnership with KT. Our cooperation represents a critical step toward secure cloud-based data utilization and industry-tailored innovation, and we will continue to strengthen our collaboration,” Karp said.

Meanwhile, Palantir will open a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of its brand engagement efforts. The two-day event will showcase limited-edition merchandise such as ontology-themed sweatshirts.
