KT Innovating Content Experience with AI
KT has introduced a specialized media solution called the “Magic Platform” that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to create and edit videos, thereby spearheading innovation in media and content.
On the same day, KT, along with its affiliates skyTV and KT Studio Genie, hosted the “KT Group Media Day” event to share achievements in the media and content business and to outline future business strategies.
During the event, KT debuted the Magic Platform a comprehensive media solution for business-to-business (B2B) that enables video analysis and content generation through AI. Utilizing this solution, KT has extracted key keywords from the eBooks of Millie’s Library using AI, synthesized dubbing voices in KT AI Voice Studio, and produced AI ObjecBooks with background music created by Genie Music’s generative AI.
KT also plans to introduce an AI Pick feature in the second half of the year through Magic Mike, allowing viewers to select specific characters, songs, or dance scenes. KT intends to make this platform available to other businesses in a website format and will also provide customized services.
Furthermore, KT plans to establish a “unified media viewership” system that can accurately analyze the viewership of various channels such as IPTV, satellite, and cable every 10 seconds. Additionally, KT announced plans to unveil an AI set-top box during the latter half of the year.
KT is also focusing on content production. This year, skyTV will handle variety show production, and Studio Genie will be responsible for drama production, executing a dual-strategy approach. Studio Genie aims to release 14 original dramas this year and is also targeting the international market with its original intellectual property.
Previously, KT announced a plan to increase its media and content revenue to 5 trillion won by next year. KT’s media subscribers currently total 13 million households, with last year’s content revenue reaching 640 billion won, marking 26% growth from the previous year.
