Before joining JPMorgan in April 2021, he served as the Global Co-Head of ESG at Edelman, a leading strategy and communications firm. His political career includes nearly a decade as the Member of Parliament for Streatham and a tenure as the UK’s Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and Skills.

In his new capacity, Umunna will:

At Edelman, he led the firm’s ESG consultancy, and he has held non-executive director positions at BC Partners, Vista Equity Partners, and Digital Identity Net UK. His legal background includes working as a corporate employment lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP.
