Today, the last remaining award of Sustainable Development Goals under the category of Good released its shortlist, thereby marking the fact that all the shortlists for Cannes 2024 have been released.

India has received 5 shortlists in this category.

Leo Burnett, Mumbai secured three of these shortlists with ‘Period Science for Moms’ for P&G Whisper in the categories of Good Health and Well Being and Quality Education along with ‘Drops of Joy’ for Lay’s in the Responsible Consumption and Production category.

McCann, Gurugram got the other two with ‘Fit My Feet’ for Buckaroo footwear in the Good Health and Well Being category which has already won a gold and bronze lion in Health & Wellness, and ‘Dabba Savings Account’ for ESAF Small Finance Bank.

This seals India’s shortlist tally at 59.

India got six shortlists in four out of six released shortlists today, 18th June, post winning four awards yesterday – inspiring and giving hope to the Indian Advertising agencies. This brings India’s shortlist Tally up to a whopping 52.

India roared on the first day of Cannes, bagging four lions: One gold, one silver and two bronze lions – a reflection of India’s creativity.

McCann, Gurugram won one out of five golds in the Health and Wellness Lions for ‘Fit My Feet’ for Buckaroo footwear. They also received the bronze. Ogilvy, Mumbai joined them by taking another Bronze Lion in the category for ‘The Impossible Choice’ for St. Jude India Childcare Centres.

Ogilvy, Mumbai also secured a Silver Lion in the Outdoor category with ‘Mahal Megh Santoor’ for Unilever’s Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea.

Today, India got six shortlists in four out of today’s six released shortlists.

In the Classic Film Lions, Social Behaviour and Cultural Insight category, Brand David Communications, Mumbai and Early Man Film, Mumbai’s ‘The Sweet Truth’ for Colgate got shortlisted.

In the Strategy Creative Effectiveness category, India got three out of 35 shortlists. Under Consumer goods and Single Market, Leo Burnett, Mumbai’s ‘Oreo #BringBack2011’ for Oreo got two shortlists. And the third also went to Leo Burnett, Mumbai for ‘Airtel 175 Re-Played’ in the Consumer Services/ Business to Business sub category.

In Creative Strategy, Leo Burnett, Mumbai received another shortlist in Media/ Entertainment for Spotify’s ‘ Feel the Music’. And the last Indian shortlist is also in the category, going to yesterday’s bronze and silver winners, Ogilvy, Mumbai, for ‘VI Human Network Testing Network’ for Vodafone Idea LTD.

This brings India’s 2023 shortlist tally up to a whooping 52.

Today, the Cannes Lions for Industry Craft Lions, Digital Craft Lions, Film Craft Lions, Design Lions, Entertainment Lions, Entertainment Lions for Gaming, Entertainment Lions for Music and Entertainment Lions for Sport will be announced. India has 12 shortlists across six of these categories, so be sure to keep an eye out.

In the 71st edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Indian agencies, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, McCann Worldgroup and FCB India have picked up a total of eight shortlists from two Lions categories on Monday (June 17, 2024).

Leo Burnett’s Gatorade – Turf Finder has bagged two shortlists in this category.

Brand experience and activation

Leo Burnett’s P&G Whisper – Period science for moms has secured a shortlist.

The agency has also has bagged a shortlist for Gatorade – Turf Finder in this category.

Ogilvy’s Cadbury 5 Star – Erase Valentine’s Day has secured a shortlist under this category.

McCann Worldgroup has secured two shortlists for Buckaroo Footwear – Fit My Feet.

FCB India has bagged a shortlist for Stir Magazine – Untangling the politics of hair.

Indian agencies have added 20 more shortlists on Sunday (June 16, 2024) at the 71st edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Cannes Lions unveiled shortlists for the following Lions categories:

Design

VML has bagged a shortlist for The Times of India – #Unplastic India.

McCann Worldgroup has also secured a shortlist for Buckaroo Footwear – Fit My Feet.

Direct Lions

Leo Burnett’s Gatorade – Turf Finder has bagged a shortlist in this category.

McCann Worldgroup has also secured a shortlist for Buckaroo Footwear – Fit My Feet.

Dentsu Creative’s Motorola Mobility – Motorola – Deep Connect has also been shortlisted in this category.

Entertainment Lions

Ogilvy’s Cadbury 5 Star – Erase Valentine’s Day has secured a shortlist under this category.

Entertainment Lions for Music

VML for Coca-Cola – Sing To Remember has bagged two shortlists in this category.

Leo Burnett’s Spotify – Feel The Music has also secured a shortlist.

Industry Craft Lions

Ogilvy’s Unilever’s Brooke Bond – Taj Mahal Megh Santoor has bagged a shortlist under this category.

VML has secured a shortlist for The Times of India – Seal Alarm and Seabird Alarm each.

Media Lions

Rapport Outdoor Advertising and Ogilvy has bagged a shortlist for Unilever’s Brooke Bond – Taj Mahal Megh Santoor.

DDB Mudra Group has also secured a shortlist for McDonald’s India – Cosplay.

PR Lions

FCB Kinnect’s HDFC Bank – Lulumelon Eoss has secured three shortlists in this category.

Leo Burnett has also secured a shortlist for Gatorade – Turf Finder.

VML’s Coca-Cola – Sing To Remember has also bagged a shortlist under this category.

In the 71st edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Indian agencies, Ogilvy, VML, Dentsu Creative, McCann Worldgroup and Early Man Film have picked up a total of 15 shortlists from six Lions categories on Saturday (June 15, 2024).

Ogilvy Mumbai has secured two shortlists in the outdoor category at the 71st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The shortlisted entries are for Unilever’s Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea. The campaign is produced by Absolute Productions, with Rapport Media as its media agency.

The agency has been shortlisted for Unilever’s Brooke Bond – Taj Mahal Megh Santoor under audio and radio category. It has also shortlisted for St. Jude India Childcare Centres – The Impossible Choice under health and wellness category.

McCann Worldgroup has bagged three shortlists for Buckaroo Footwear – Fit My Feet under health and wellness category.

Dentsu Creative has secured two shortlists in the audio and radio category for Motorola Mobility – Motorola – Deep Connect.

Early Man Film has bagged two shortlists for Jindal Steel and Power – Jindal Steel – The Steel of India in the film craft category.

In the print and publishing category, VML picked up four shortlists for Times of India for four different campaigns. The ‘Seal Alarm’ campaign, ‘Turtle Alarm’ campaign, ‘Seabird Alarm’ campaign, and the ‘#Unplastic India’ campaign each bagged a shortlist.

Cannes Lions 2024 has reported a total of 26,753 submissions for the 2024 Awards.

India scores three Glass shortlists

Cannes Lions has released its first shortlists in the special categories of Innovation, The Dan Wieden Titanium Lions for game-changing creativity and the Glass Lions for change. This year India was shut out of the Innovation and Titanium categories, but scored three of the 17 works shortlisted for Glass Lions. The three Indian agencies are Leo Burnett, McCANN Worldgroup and TGTHR.

The Cannes Lions festival is so much more than an award festival. In fact, the awards happen only in the evenings and it’s a place to be even if your company/agency hasn’t entered any work, because it’s the fastest way to see the winning work. Cannes Lions is a good indicator of what’s hot and what’s not in the world of creativity.

India comes out headstrong on day 2 of Cannes Lions 2024

After a strong start for Indian agencies at the luxurious Palais des Festivals venue, with a total of four Lions — one gold, one silver and two bronzes — on the first day of Cannes Lions, day 2 was a roaring success, with India picking up five Lions at the time of going to press.

McCann Worldgroup India cinched a Gold Lion in the Health and Wellness category. With four metals secured on the first day, the Indian contingent is hoping to best their 2023 metal haul of 25.
